Hi everyone!

This is group 2 , we have Adis as the leader,  Karan as the vice leader and other members that are Keisha and Shafira. For this Second PBL Project the theme is about “Family”, our group did Short Motivational Ads and Adis as the leader of the group divided the task to all members.

We decided to make a Short Motivational Ads. In the short ads, we narrated all of the learning objectives from the subjects included . The story of the short ads is about, a child named Lia who has 2 younger siblings named Emma and Karan. They always got bad grades at school. She works hard to improve her grades, her mother also supports her and motivates her not to give up. So, actually this story gives a message that we can solve things at home and we have to work harder to be better.

 Adis as the leader of our group decided on our roles and tasks for each member. Adis wrote the script, edited the video  and helped to find ideas for each learning objectives, Keisha and Shafira were assigned to find ideas for the learning objectives and also make a conversation in Arabic and Mandarin, while Karan helped Adis to edit the video. Everyone in the group made the reviewer & planning.

First we read the guidelines then we divide the task. We make plans and then we look for topics that will be used to make reviewers. Adis made a script for the Ads. Once Adis is finished with the script, she asks all the members to send their recordings of their own part in the script.  After all the videos were collected, Adis and Karan as the editors started editing the video, we added subtitles, background music, sound effects etc. After we’re finished with the short motivational ads, we start to make a powerpoint for our presentation in the language fair. 

This was our 2nd project that we did in lower secondary, grade 7. Actually, the second PBL is more or less the same as the first PBL, we still did the project online or virtually. The difference is, the project is more complicated and the challenge is more difficult than the first PBL. By having this PBL project, we got so many things; We got new skills on how to make a good quality video, we also learned on how to make a scenario in a scene. 

There are some difficulties that we faced, such as; Having a hard time to think and make up a story that has to be completed by all the subject’s objectives, some of the members were late in answering the message and some are not online too, and the most difficult part is our time management, we do learn from our last mistake but for this second PBL we did it together with our Midterm that’s why we need to spare our time to also prepare and study for our midterm. But, the cooperation of our members helped us overcome these challenges although sometimes there were some you were not responsive to. Apart from getting wider knowledge and skills, the existence of this PBL project also allows us to get to know each other better through team work. 

For people out there who will be doing this Project Based Learning or other project, we have some tips and recommendations that hopefully can help ease your difficulties in doing the project. When you want to start making a project, we highly recommend you to make a reviewer and planning, because this really helps you to not forget important things for the project. If you did not know what is a reviewer and a planning, reviewer is where you write your story or draft for your project, and a planning is where you put things that you need to include in your project, you can also write the objectives and approval from the teachers in a planning. Moreover, we have some app recommendations for those of you who will be making short ads or any type of videos. We use an app called InShot and CapCut to edit our short ads. We used InShot to crop out our videos and add background music because in InShot it didn’t take a long time to save the cropped files and videos, they also include a lot of catchy songs to be used as background music. We used CapCut to add subtitles in our short ads because in CapCut there are a lot of unique and cool fonts to use. That’s why we recommend these apps.
