Greetings everyone! We are group 3 from Grade 10, which members are Ranaa and Risya.

We are delighted to introduce our STEAM fair project which is a comic strip and a research paper. The title of the research paper is “Heritance Observation on Blood Types”, and on the other hand, the comic strip talks about how a girl thought she was adopted because she had a different blood type with her parents, but later on her friend explains to her that it is normal and she is not in fact adopted.

Risya was well focused on the comic while Ranaa focused on the research paper. Ranaa and Risya both partake in the video presentation, Ranaa gave a brief introduction about the research paper and Risya explained the process as well as the inspiration behind the comic. They also gave a presentation about the research paper together on D-Day.

Ranaa said that the research process took only 5 days and was relatively easy to finish. On the other hand, Risya thinks that the comic strip making was a bit challenging. Finding the inspiration for the storyline was a bit easy since the idea popped straight out of our heads. But, sketching the comic for 4 days was very hard. Afterwards, she converted the strip digitally on an app called “Ibis Paint”.

The research paper mainly talks about the possible outcomes of blood types from different sets of parents – and in this case we used Ranaa’s parents as an example. The research paper is divided into 3 parts the introduction, theory results and the conclusion. But to sum it all up  Ranaa’s parents have Type A and Type B blood type and is considered genetically “dominant” in comparison to the “recessive” Type O.  This is just the main result of the research paper, so if you want to check the full paper out, click here.

In conclusion, we both definitely learned new things from this year’s STEAM fair and are looking forward to next year!
